At Hutchison Ports TNG is necesary an inspection and a filled work permit to conduct dangerous activities: confined space entrance, hot works, work at heights, electric works, etcetera.
Among the controls prior to the execution of such hazardous activities, there are the following practices: gas monitoring, LOTO (Lockout and tagout), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Near Miss register, planned inspections and safety observations.
Our Safety supervision is performed according to the “Maritime Confined Space Hazards and Shipyard Fire Safety” regulation, fulfilling OSHA 29 CFR 1915.7 and NFPA regulations.
Hutchison Ports TNG uses certified gas detection equipment for: oxigen, carbon monoxide, sulphydric acid, flammability, volatile organic compounds and detection by reactive pipes. As well as rescue equipment such as: tripods, flexible and rigid baskets and self-contained breathing equipment.
According to an annual programme, drills are performed to evaluate the response capacity of the emergency brigades. Hutchison Ports TNG have the following brigades: fire prevention, first aid, evacuation, search and rescue, and sea-spill control drills.
