Hutchison Ports TNG prioritizes continuous improvement in aspects of health, safety and well-being of both workers and our customers and contractors, values of high priority for the organization. Hutchison Ports TNG is committed to a strict policy for the care of Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Protection (SOS and PA). Our health and safety management systems at work are governed by the safety standards of the Mexican authority (STPS), as well as the implementation of critical work processes under recommendations from international associations such as the NFPA.

Work Permit System.
In Hutchison Ports TNG it is necessary to inspect and fill out work permits to carry out activities dangerous such as: entry into confined spaces, hot work, work at height, electrical work, etc.

Among the controls prior to the execution of said dangerous activities are the following work practices: inspection and monitoring of gases in confined spaces, energy blocking and permits for electrical release, AST (Job Safety Analysis), permits for critical hot work, evaluations and safety observations in projects, work permits for contractors, among others.

Confined Spaces.
At TNG we consider ourselves experts in the inspection of confined spaces, our safety supervision is carried out according to the “Maritime Confine Space Hazards and Shipyard Fire Safety” regulation in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1915.7. and NFPA standards. Hutchison Ports TNG has certified gas detector equipment for: oxygen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, explosiveness and volatile organic compounds (VOC's). Likewise, TNG is prepared for emergency response with rescue equipment such as tripods, flexible and rigid baskets, and self-contained breathing equipment, firefighting suits, long-range water monitors, compressor electric for recharging autonomous breathing tanks, temperature monitor, etc.

Emergency Brigades.
According to the annual program established in the internal civil protection plan, They carry out drills that evaluate the response capacity of the emergency brigades. These brigades are made up of trained personnel with the following skills: fire fighting, first aid, personnel evacuation, search and rescue. In addition, TNG has a certified fire line, approved and verified annually by the local authority and state civil protection.

Port Security, ISPS Code.

At Hutchison Ports TNG, Security is governed by the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code, which aims to establish the minimum requirements that must be met a ship, or a port facility, to prevent its destruction, hijacking or use as a storage or transportation area for terrorists, explosive devices or other illegal dangerous materials.

Hutchison Ports TNG has a Security Protection Plan Port Facility, with the purpose of preventing either our facilities or the ships that are within TNG, from being used as means for the transportation or storage of illegal substances, terrorists or weapons, access controls were also established, patrol system, care of restricted areas and coordination is maintained with the port authorities of the Port of Veracruz through participation in the Protection Subcommittee of the Port of Veracruz.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH

Hutchison Ports TNG carries out programs and activities to improve the health of all its employees. The shipyard also has facilities and equipment for the prevention and control of chronic-degenerative diseases and an area for treating injuries. TNG implements health campaigns and sporting events to promote the physical health of its workers.

Currently, the health program called “TNG Healthy” is being implemented permanently, which throughout the year carries out various sports activities, health brigades, awareness campaigns, talks with specialists and taking health indicators for all its employees.

TNG has medical facilities equipped for the care and consultation of workers, customers and contractors, as well as an ambulance equipped for support in emergency transfers.
